Bio

Acoustic guitar storytelling troubadour teams up with truth-seeking piano songstress to make a power-house duo of singing & songwriting called Lipkin & Hitt. Pittsburgh's Jay Hitt & New York's Lisa Jane Lipkin craft a musical world that is insightful, very tuneful, often playful, and sheer delight!

Hitt, twice named Best Acoustic Musician by readers of the Pittsburgh City Paper, has seen his songs receive numerous awards including Best Song in the Canadian Narrative Music Contest. In addition to other awards, his album "Gentle Persuader" was in the top ten CD's of the year by WYEP/Pittsburgh. His stage credits include Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera productions of "Always, Patsy Cline" and "Ring of Fire" (Johnny Cash revue).

Lipkin's songs have received such prizes as First Place in a New York State Contest for Environmental Awareness and her composition was featured in the Tami Gold Documentary, "Passionate Politics." On stage, she has opened for Dar Williams, Steve Forbert, Vance Gilbert, Shemekia Copeland and others. Her production credits include the award-winning children's CD "Home" by Christine Pepe and Jay Hitt's "Greetings from the Wilderness."

Since their meeting in 2012, Lipkin & Hitt have graced all manner of stages and continue to enchant and entertain audiences where ever they go.
